Opportunity for High School Seniors Interested in Becoming a Teacher for the St. Joseph School District

 

Recipients may :

·       Receive up to $4,000 per year for four years

·       Receive the opportunity for professional development during the summer

·       Be hired to teach for the St. Joseph School District once the student graduates from college and becomes a certified teacher

 

 

 

                        To apply, students MUST:

·       Be a BHS, CHS, or LHS senior

·       Have a 2.7 GPA or higher

·       Have a composite score of 18 or higher on the ACT

·       Complete and sign the applicant form

·       Write a personal statement (1-2 pages) describing educational goals and interest in teaching for the St. Joseph School District

·       Provide three letters of reference

 

 

                        Once Selected, Recipients are Required to:

·       Attend a college or university and major in a program of study that will lead to teacher certification.

·       Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above

·       Graduate with a degree in education and become certified to teach

·       Teach for the St. Joseph School District at least one (1) year for every year of participation in the Grow Your Own program.
