With 24 years of experience in education, Gilliland brings extensive leadership and a strong commitment to student achievement to her new role.

Gilliland previously served as Assistant Principal at Central High School for the past two years, following a year as an Administrative Intern and 21 years as a mathematics teacher at Central. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a passion for creating positive learning environments, supporting staff, and helping students succeed both academically and personally.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Missouri Western State University, as well as a Master’s in Mathematics Education and a Specialist in Educational Administration from Northwest Missouri State University. She is also National Board Certified in Mathematics. In recognition of her leadership and dedication, Mrs. Gilliland was recently named the 2024–2025 Northwest Region Assistant Principal of the Year.

Mrs. Gilliland and her husband, Aaron, live in Buchanan County with their two children—Cole, who recently graduated from State Technical College of Missouri, and Sydney, who will be a senior at East Buchanan High School this fall.
